Three quick questions for coach Othmar from TV Dagmersellen

What were your first impressions of the app?I find the app and web system to be visually very pleasing and graphically well designed. The videos are authentic and real. I see emotion and joy in the children in the videos. The form has clear structures, is illustrative, and the handball exercises are understandable and easy to follow. Content-wise, I find the exercises also clear and easy to follow. You can also see that there is a lot of handball skills behind it. What I miss a bit is that I could get even faster to the right video, so I could further reduce my prep time.
How can the app support you in everyday life with exercise?Especially in skills development and as a source of inspiration. For me personally, and certainly also for the other youth coaches, the app provides a personal peace of mind in training planning and selection of exercises. Lær Handball helpen meg med planning i kontor og med animation/illustration på webbplats i hallen — på min mobil eller tablet.
What do you think characterizes a good child and youth coach? For me, there are four areas:
- Prima of all, the coach is a personality: the child and youth coach is first and foremost a role model and a nurturer.
- Then the trainer is a professional: he/she should have high professional competence (e.g. in terms of technique and instruction).
- Thirdly, the coach is a tutor, adviser and educator. Importantly, there is a very high level of social competence, empathy, decision-making skills, and the ability to support, challenge and guide.
- Finally, it is also about the passion of the coach: He/she is always in a good mood during training, enters with joy and enthusiasm to both training and competition.
Thanks for your answers, Othmar! Good luck with Learn Handball.
